Since 1970, Erickson Design has been a industrial/product design studio specializing in electric guitar and bass design, sound and acoustical engineering, as well as professional recording technical services and systems design. In addition, Erickson Design provides product design engineering and computerized product CAD services.

In 1991 the Wolff and Erickson partnership was founded by Gary Erickson of Erickson Design Associates located in Fountain Valley, California and Steve Wolff of Wolff Engineering of Woodacre, California. That same year Wolff and Erickson applied for several patents in the field of Acoustic/Electric Transference Materials and Tremolo Action/Reaction Physics. Over the following years several patents and designs have been developed with these new innovative theories. Erickson Design Associates
 (EDA) now offers Nut and Bridge Saddle Systems for most strings instruments, as well as Acoustic Sensors for most acoustic and electric instruments.

Currently the EDA headquarters and manufacturing center is located at its Fountain Valley, California facility. EDA is currently in production of Tone Hound Acoustic Sensor Systems, Erickson Guitars, and Theory "Z" component parts for musical instruments. EDA distributes it's own products in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. EDA provides quick response and managed inventory to both retailers and individual buyers with computerized sales and the modern Overnight Global Inventory Tracking Services provided by Federal Express and UPS.

EDA products have been acclaimed by world famous group artists like Davey Jonstone of Elton John, Greg Kimoc of Zero, Jerry Garcia of the Greatful Dead, as well as solo artists such as Mark Bonilla, and Alan Holdsworth.
